Use the current government-maintained Electronic Code of Federal Regulations (eCFR) for the full rule text. These links organize the regulations; they do not replace them.

Prior Air Traffic Control (ATC) authorization is required for Part 107 operations in Class B, Class C, Class D, and the airport-designated Class E surface areas. Visual Line of Sight (VLOS), operating limitations, and other applicable requirements remain relevant after authorization.

Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) requires applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval. Night flight and operations over people have their own conditions.
