Class E — other controlled airspace
What it means
Part 107 requires prior Air Traffic Control (ATC) authorization within the lateral boundaries of a Class E surface area designated for an airport.
Chart reading
Class E has different floors. Identify the surface designation and your actual flight altitude.
Use current charts and check the flight location, planned altitude, restrictions, and effective times. A reference page does not grant flight permission.
