Class G — uncontrolled airspace
What it means
Class G is uncontrolled airspace. Airspace authorization is not required solely because a Part 107 flight is in Class G. Other rules and restrictions still apply.
Chart reading
Check where overlying controlled airspace begins. Uncontrolled does not mean unrestricted.
Use current charts and check the flight location, planned altitude, restrictions, and effective times. A reference page does not grant flight permission.
